Of Online Beggars On Social Media Tiktok Fiqh Jinayah Perspective

Abstract

The phenomenon of online begging on social media platforms such as TikTok raises ethical and legal concerns, especially from an Islamic legal perspective.This article aims to analyze the practice from a fiqh jinayah perspective, highlighting aspects of honesty, manipulation, and potential exploitation.Online beggars who use manipulative narratives or fake stories to gain public sympathy are considered to violate the principles of social justice and honesty in Islam.This phenomenon also has negative impacts, such as decreasing public trust in those who really need help.This study uses a literature study method by referring to primary and secondary sources in Islamic law.The results show that the phenomenon of online begging is equated with offline begging, so it is considered haram if done without urgent need.From a fiqh jinayah perspective, the perpetrator can be subject to ta'zir punishment, the form and level of which are left to the discretion of the judge at the Sharia Court.The punishment can be in the form of whipping, fines, or other sanctions according to the context and conditions.The implementation of this ta'zir punishment, as applied in Aceh.
